According to Arkady Shipunov, who left the position of KBP's general director in late September, the Pantzyr's export backlog already has reached $2.6 billion. In addition to the United Arab Emirates — which financed the system's development and became its launch customer — Syria and Algeria also have placed orders. Shipunov said that negotiations on the delivery of additional systems are being held with five more countries in North Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe.
Image

http://www.defense-update.com/products/p/pantsir.htm
Pantsir S1 Air Defense System
KBP, (Russia)
Pantsir S1 was developed by KBP, as an upgrade of the Tungushka, offering extended engagement capability such as the use of both gun and missile on the move (Tungushka can use only gun), on the tracked system. The system also offers faster reaction time of 4 – 6 seconds (compared to 8 seconds for the Tungushka and 5 – 7 for Pantsir S1O). Like its predecessor, Pantsir S1 can also engage two separate targets simultaneously.

The Pantsir is offered in a tracked, wheeled versions, installed on APCs such as BTR-80and trucks, such as the 8x8 Ural 5323 truck. The truck mounted version is loaded with 700 cartridges per barrel and twelve 57E6-E missiles (also known as 9M335 or the 9M311).

The missile offers high kill probability (0.7 – 0.95) in an expanded envelope with extended range of 1.2 km to 20km, (1.5 – 18 km in Pantsir S1O version) and altitude of 5 m' to 10 km. The guns are designed for operation at a range of 200 m' to 4 km and altitude of 0 to 3,000m'. These missiles use a longer tandem boost motor to reach an altitude of 12,000 m'. The range of the radar was also extended to 30km, with simultaneously tracking of up to 20 targets, and engaging two separated targets at the same time. The launch customer of the Pantsir S1 was the UAE.

The Pantsir S1 uses a multi-band radar with effective ECCM and high immunity to jamming. passive, low band IR target acquisition system, utilize signal processing and automatic target tracking. Pantsir S10 uses only one sensor – probably the passive IR system. The SA-19 missile uses SACLOS guidance, effective to a range of min 2,500 – 8,000 m,. 1RL-144M fire control system uses an E-Band search radar with a detection range of 18km and J band tracking radar. India has procured the system.

Le Pantsir-S1 est multiplatforme (BTR-80, Camion SNVI, Navire...etc.)

Is designed for AD of small-size military and industrial objects and areas against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and high-precision weapons, as well as AD groups coverage while repelling mass air threats.

System Distinctive Features:

Combined armament;
:arrow: Effective engagement of all target types (foremost high-precision weapons and aviation means of their delivery) within the whole range of their combat application environments and counteraction capabilities, taking into account the prospects of their development till 2020–2025;
Use of sophisticated multi-mode adaptive radar-optical control system, functioning in several wave bands. This provides high jamming immunity and performance reliability;
:arrow: Use of high-velocity and maneuverability SAM featuring high kill probability (0.7–0.95) against all target types;
:arrow: Automatic combat operation mode - both autonomously and as a part of joint units;
:arrow: Independent combat actions due to inherent target detection, tracking and engagement systems;
:arrow: Modular design of the combat vehicle, enabling its versions on different carriers-wheeled, tracked and shelter variants.

Image

Donc Pantsir-S1 :

:arrow: Anti-aérien (avion et hélico)
:arrow: Anti-missile

The new SOTS S-band search radar increases detection range from 36km's to "over 40." The system can now track in excess of 40 incoming targets up from 8-10, and can now engage targets traveling at up to 1,200 meters per second up from 1,000 m/s. Search azimuth has also been increased from 80 degrees to 90 degrees owed to electronic beam steering.

Launch customer for the new variant is Algeria. Several dozen vehicles will be delivered to them this year.
Note the location of the friend or foe beacon has been changed. The early sand colored prototype has the antenna on the bottom, but on the series produced green vehicle above the antenna is on top of the radar.

All pics are from comrade Minister Rogozin's visit to the factory this past week. Rogozin is the new armaments chief and the ex Russian ambassador to NATO.

Combat proven :twisted:

«To ambush the Turkish Air Force F-4 Super Phantom Friday, June 22, over Latakia Syria used Russian-made self-propelled medium range anti-air Pantsyr-1 missiles recently supplied by Moscow (not as first reported anti-air Buk-M2 missiles). This weapon can down aircraft flying at altitudes up to 12 kilometers and cruise missiles. The unit responsible for the ambush was the 73rd brigade of the Syrian army’s 26th Air Defense Division. Since the sophisticated weapons were delivered to the Assad regime in recent weeks, it must be assumed that local missile crews had not finished training in their use and would have had to rely on help from their Russian instructors to fire one.

»This would be the first instance in the 15-month Syrian uprising of an advanced Russian-supplied weapon hitting the military target of a NATO member…»
