the TAF paid more than 1 billion dollars to get the caracal and the UH 60, yes if we were dealing with the russians that price may bring us more and better arms but things aren't working that way.
So the deal is done and we are getting them!!! I feel sick in stomach, I can't believe how few cowards can put us in this crap??? :scratch:

132. L'aéromobilité des hélicoptères en dotation est très affectée par les conditions d'emploi dans le Sahel. Tous les hélicoptères de manoeuvre en sont victimes et particulièrement le Caracal, qui n'offre dans cet environnement sévère que des performances modestes. Il ne peut emporter que dix commandos à deux cents kilomètres à une température de 30°C et voit ses performances très dégradées lorsque la température excède 40°C. (problématique similaire avec les Cougar rénovés). Certes, l'environnement sahélien est la cause et les hélicoptères sont les victimes. Il n'en reste pas moins que le coût de l'heure de vol est excessif et le « service après-vente » n'est pas à la hauteur de ce que l'Etat est en droit d'attendre. Concernant la maintenance, seulement deux hélicoptères de manoeuvre (Caracal et Cougar) sur cinq sont disponibles simultanément. Des problèmes majeurs de moteur sont constatés et des changements sont nécessaires entre 60 heures et 100 heures alors que la limite d'envoi en révision générale annoncée par le constructeur est de 3 000 heures. Depuis janvier 2013, 22 moteurs ont été changés. Enfin, le coût du maintien en condition opérationnelle est lui aussi prohibitif. Le coût de réparation d'un moteur est de l'ordre de 300 000 à 600 000 € HT. Cette situation est inacceptable. Des mesures correctrices des industriels concernés s'imposent.
Thanks for sharing this informative article, but it is inaccurate to compare Saharan environment to Tunisia's, so in order to test the efficiency of these helos, they must be only tested within Tunisian Territories. then, we can argue the imperfections of the planes. Thank you. :para:
