You don't need to change your doctrine by buying armed Mi-171, for 6 UH60 you can have 12 Mi-171V, with laser guided missiles

With all due respect guys but Tunisian government can't do nothing now... We don't have cash to buy what we want, specially this contract was secured by the USA government ( that means if Tunisia can't do the payment the US will do the payment and it will be an extra dept. on the Tunisian shoulders) . All of us know that our moneys was stolen by Ben Ali's regime and his mafias. even our oil and gas and all our recourses were sold to the west for pennies. So the only thing we can do now, with our temporary government and temporary president is to get what we can get from the west till we have the election and have a new and strong government and new president for the next 5 years. So many things will be changed. It is matter of time.

Thank you all

According to your point of view, most of the non-petroleum countries should have no military doctrine and armament choices because they lack financing !! :sui:

Tunisia's resources may be limited and that's not an update but our military leaders and decision-makers always had their ways of getting the most sufficient and advanced weapons
F-5Es/Fs were not a surplus of the American Industry in the 80s! nor was the choice of adopting the Austrian-Made AUGs in the end 70s! why didn't we just adopted shitty made soviet AKs since we're so desperate and have no armament doctrine!
Most of the world including European countries request U.S. extra-produced weapons especially after the F-35 program from F-16s to Humvees, they must have no doctrine and no military history!!

1st Russia is not a charity NGO, you gotta pay cash $ to get your order
2nd Can you explain to me how are we supposed to consider buying russian-made weapons while we're at WAR with the scums at are western borders!! Training, establishing military relations and committees shall take years of prep, not mentioning the U.S./west's reaction! is this good enough to bring tension that we don't need ?
our military institution has a wise look about these things and they know the best interests for Tunisia, we're no more than amateurs and they are the decision-makes so lets not get carried away.
you're point of view is respected, but it's just not realistic.

On a jamais choisie !!!

Again we don't have the luxury to buy what we want because of so many reasons. What we can wish for now is to moderate our military as quick as possible, plus reinforce our military personnel with the Best and advanced equipment and the training and increase the number of the active military personnel. Those UH-60M Black Hawk are very needed. I hope we will have the apache or the tiger or any kind of those birds, anytime soon so we can eliminate those halloufs in mountain of shaanbi ASAP.
Thank you all and god bless tunisia.

Tunisia to receive four 'modified' UH-60M helos

The Tunisian government is to receive four 'modified' Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk utility helicopters by the end of June 2019, the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 30 June.

The contract is a USD79.7 million modification to an award for eight 'green' helicopters that was made in March. These initial eight unmodified platforms will be delivered before 31 December 2016.

Tunisia requested 12 helicopters valued at USD700 million in July 2014. In addition to the machines, the request includes 24 7.62 mm M134 Miniguns, 24 12.7 mm (.50 inch) GAU-19 Gatling guns, 24 70 mm Hydra rocket pods, and the ability to integrate laser-guided variants of the rockets. Other equipment will include Wescam MX-15Di or Brite Star II electro-optical/infrared designators and AN/AVS-9 night-vision goggles. The countermeasures suite is to comprise AN/APR-39A(V)4 radar warning receivers, AN/AAR-57 missile warning systems, and AN/AVR-2B(V)1 laser warning systems.

The UH-60M is the newest Black Hawk variant in service with the US Army, incorporating more powerful and reliable General Electric T700-GE-701D engines, enhanced rotor blades, and a fully digital 'glass' cockpit.
