I would like to address the controversy in the previous pages concerning the blackened side of the 910.
All the world's navies nowadays use one of theses four propulsion packages for its vessels : COGAG, CODAG, CODLAG or IEP.
COGAG: Combined Gas and Gas
CODAG: Combined Diesel and Gas
CODLAG: Combined Diesel Electric and Gas
IEP: Integrated Electric Propulsion
Our Meko A200 frigates use the CODAG-WARP propulsion package

known for its superior performance regarding acceleration, size, economy and range, along with a very innovative exhaust layout.

The system consists of two diesel engines and one gas turbine, offering four operating modes :

1-Manoeuvre Mode : Both diesel engines are connected to the propellers. The maximum ship speed in this mode is approximately 23 knots
2-Economic Mode : used for long-distance cruising. Only one diesel engine is connected to both propellers. The maximum ship speed in this mode is approximately 18 knots
3-Gas Turbine Mode : only the gas turbine and the waterjet. The maximum ship speed in this mode is approximately 23 knots
4-CODAG-WARP Mode : the two diesel driven propeller shafts and the gas turbine driven waterjet give ship’s a top speed of 30 knots
That explains why only the starboard is so blackened by the fumes, that because the الرادع is running on the economic mode meaning that only the the engine on the right is driving the whole ship.
Unlike other frigates, for example the Fremm which has a huge funnel (a major hot spot + noise + vibrations + waste of space)

In our Meko the voluminous exhaust casing was removed from the superstructure and the combustion gases were led via horizontal ducts to the stern and to the starboard/port of the ship’s hull. The result is an extend space over the ship’s length, for weapon placement (16 RBS-15MKIII/ 32 UkhmontoIR-ER) and for accommodation (crew cabin is double the size as compared to a normal frigate)
There is absolutely nothing unusual/wrong with the engine or the exhaust system
USS Freedom LCS of the US Navy

SAS Spioenkop Valour Class of the South African Navy

Instead of repainting the sides over and over each time we can just make it black and be done with it once for all
MEKO-100 Kedah-class of Royal Malaysian Navy

K130 class of the German Navy
